From first period around 1880th. a wonderful 16 " ( 41 cm ) Schmitt et Fils Bebe with pale pressed bisque socket head has plump cheeks and very nice expression of deep modeling !
She has gorgeous almond - shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes , dark eyeliner and fine painted lashes . Mauve blushed eyes shadow and feathered brows. Closed mouth with shaded lips , lovely modeled pierced ears and wonderful original wig over original leather cap and pate !
Original early composition and wooden eight loose ball jointed body with straight wrists and separate fingers , lower legs with muscular calf, slender ankle and long narrow foot which is typical for on Schmitt bebe body ! The flat cut shaping of derriere rim is also typical and has Schmitt et Fils stamp with crossed hammer . Body has original body finish....... and is generally excellent as well !!
Complete condition are generally excellent , bisque free of damage , repair , chip or hairline !!!
Head mark at back ; Bte. SGDG 2 (( the initials indicate the doll was patented )) ... France circa 1879 / 80
