Early French Block-Letter Bebe by Gaultier ... France circa 1882 .... in lovely cabinet size about 19 " ( 48 cm ) with fine delicate quality of pale pressed bisque and softly blushed complexion, gorgeous eyes and original condition of wig , body and original clothing ! Preserved in a pretty gift box .... maybe she was a Birthday or Christmas gift at 19th. century ...
The pretty doll has very cute facial expression of fine pressed pale bisque socket head with large hazelnut brown enamel inset eyes with dark eyeliner , long painted curly lashes and widely feathered brows , mauve blushed eye shadow. Close mouth with modeled tongue tip and hint of smile of her fine accented and outlined lips. Has on funny dimple chin , pierced ears with original earrings and pretty blonde long curled original mohair wig on original cork pate!
Head mark at back : F. 8 G. (( Block letter))and her fine bisque head is in all perfect condition..... free of damage , chip , hairline or repair !!
Original French composition and wooden fully jointed lose ball body with original body finish and straight wrist mark by Jumeau . (( Heads by Gaultier could be found on different French body´s )) . Body condition are good to age ....
The doll is all around excellent and rare to find in this stunning and original condition ...... special her beautiful original costume is too cute for her but has condition as is !!
Wears pretty pink silk costume with trim and lace decoration and matching high brim bonnet , set of under garments , pink stockings and French shoes with silk rosette .Note melting parts at her original dress ... it is in condition as is but we prefer to keep it on her because it is her original one !!
She is preserved in a most beautiful gift box with large silk bow decoration , looks very beautiful and we think she was a wonderful gift for a little girl to her Birthday or Christmas ....
