A rare model designed and sculpted by the great French artist " Carrier Belleuse " on commission from Maison Jumeau and is now known as " Bebe Triste " in reference to her sad expression !
The rare doll has a hard to see very fine old hairline at head side so that it would be a chance to own one of this wonderful and rare dolls for a resonable price as what you have to pay for a perfect one !!!
28" ( 71 cm ) Bebe which has superb quality of pale bisque and painting , pressed bisque socket head with elongated and very full cheeks and chin ! Stunning blue glass paperweight inset eyes with dark eyeliner , fine painted lashes and mauve blushed eye shadow. Brushstroked brows and accented eye corners . She has closed mouth with deep modeling on shaded and outlined lips. Beautiful separately modeled pierced ears and original curled blonde mohair wig over her cork pate.
Head mark size 13 / 28" ( 71 cm ) and artist check mark
On her original French composition and wooden fully jointed body with typical straight wrists. Original body finish and blue Jumeau mark at back !
Her complete condition is generally very good , please note a very fine hairline at her head side which are hard to see with your eyes if you see her in person and is most covered by her wig ... please see all on my pictures and fell free to ask me about a picture of her head in the light !!
She wears antique French clothing of midnight blue velvet dress with lace collar and silk bonnet. Has set of under garment with French stocking and her original Depose Jumeau mark shoes size 13 !
