From first period around 1882th. a wonderful 15 " ( 40 cm ) Schmitt et Fils Bebe with pale pressed bisque socket head with plump cheeks and very nice expression of deep modeling !
She has gorgeous almond - shaped deep brown glass enamel inset eyes , dark eyeliner and fine painted lashes . Mauve blushed eyes shadow and feathered brows. Closed mouth with shaded lips , lovely modeled pierced ears and wonderful original fur wig over original pate !
Original early composition and wooden eight loose ball jointed body with straight wrists and separate fingers , lower legs with muscular calf, slender ankle and long narrow foot which is typical for on Schmitt bebe body ! The flat cut shaping of derriere rim is also typical and has Schmitt et Fils stamp with crossed hammer . Body has original body finish....... and is generally excellent as well !!
Here complete condition is generally excellent , bisque free of damage , repair , chip or hairline !!!
Head mark at back ; 1 SCH ( in shield ) ... France circa 1880/82
Wearing original antique set of lovely under garments with socks and French shoes , two piece costume of pretty velvet jacket with wonderfuk dress . Matching fancy bonnet !
