Beautiful only E.J. mark Bebe by Emile Jumeau size 9 ( 23" / 58 cm )from first priod and very rare to find Portrait face .
A stunning Bebe of the first period from around 1878 and era of " Gold Medal" award at the Paris Exposition produced only short time at this type ! Has very delicate pale pressed bisque and very beautifully painted features , original body and body finish and wearing lovely silk costume with bonnet !!
She has finest quality of pale pressed bisque socked head with beautiful blue glass enamel inset eyes , has dark eyeliner and fine painted lashes. Pale rose blushed eye shadow and brush-stroked and feathered brows. She has closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips and little space between lips with dipled corner. Separately modeled and pierced ears . Sweet dimpled chin and beautiful culed blonde mohair wig over cork pate.
Only E.J. mark Bebe with rare facial expression about a Portrait Bebe , so she is produced of the same mold as the early portrait dolls by Maison Jumeau !
Incised head mark at back ..... 9 E. J. and artist checkmark
Original French composition and wooden eight - loose - ball body with original body finish and straight wrists with typical large hands. Body mark at back with Jumeau stamp .....
She has generally excellent condition .... free of damage , chip , repair or hairline . Tiny not disturbing factory flaw ....hard to see air bubble in her mouth corner !! Her underarms and hands has a well done color refresh after many years and one of her ears has a tiny earring hole chip.
The rare doll is wearing very beautiful with set of antique under garments , socks and ecru Jumeau shoes with Jumeau mark by Emile Jumeau ...please see on my pictures ! Light pink silk and wool costume with high brim wire bonnet .
