Very beautiful and rare to find French Bebe about 18" ( 46 cm ) from a short-lived firm by Mothereau from France around 1882 / 84 ...... has extraordinary quality of pale pressed bisque and sculpting . Rare original Mothereau body of wood and metal with typical wide shoulders and plump expression , wearing very beautiful antique clothing !!
An rare to find very beautiful French Bebe with best quality of pressed pale bisque socket head with lovely full cheeks and chin . Has beautiful blue glass enamel inset eyes with dark outer rim , thick dark eyeliner and fine painted long lashes . Fine mauve blushed eye shadow and feathered brows.
The pretty doll has closed mouth with lip corners and defined space between the outlined lips . Dimpled chin and pierced ears and nice replaced curled blonde mohair wig over her original leather and card-board pate .
Has generally perfect and excellent bisque condition ..... free of damage , hairline , chip or repair !!!
Head mark at back of neck ; B . 6 M .
Original and rare to find Mothereau wooden and metal fully jointed body , an rare original body style of this firm with metal torso , has metal underarms and hands with straight wrists and metal feet , wooden upper arms and legs. Has generally original body finish with not disturbing color refresh ! Body condition are generally excellent to age .......
The rare doll is finally wearing most beautiful with antique color full silk costume , pink stocking and French shoes. Superb silk bonnet and her fancy costume look´s so pretty to her. The dress has small damage and missing part at skirt but not disturbing .
She is a very beautiful and rare to find French Bebe with most beautiful eyes , very choice bisque with lustrous patina ...... original body and wonderful clothing !!! A doll which is not so easy to find again in this complete outstanding condition ...........
