Special rare to find all original condition from Paris Department Store offer around 1890 ...... very beautiful Bebe Jumeau with very rare to find all original lever sleep eye mechanism , best quality of bisque and painting , original body , clothing and Jumeau mark shoes. Preserved in her original Presentation box from Paris Department store " Galeries Lafayette "
On 19 " ( 49 cm ) example of the open mouth Bebe by Emile Jumeau circa 1890 .... with superb pale creamy bisque and rare lever sleep eye mechanism. Her beautiful blue glass paperweight eyes can be moved with her original lever mechanism from side to side and up and down , so that she can sleep ..... wake up and can look too bothe sides . She has thick black eyeliner and fine lushly painted lashes . Brush-stroked and feathered brows and on open mouth with hint of smile , pretty row of porcelain teeth between her shaded and outlined lips and funny dimpled chin. Pierced ears and wonderful original blonde curled mohair wig with original Jumeau red silk ribbon over cork pate .
Head engraved mark at back ..... TETE JUMEUAU Bte. SGDG 8 ( artist checkmark )
Note a very hard to see .... possible factory flaw .... micro fine hairline at her head side ( please see my pictures ) , otherwise generally excellent and free of damage , chip or repair !!
Original French composition and wooden fully jointed body with original body finish and Jumeau mark at back !! Her body has small color repair left hand , otherwise generally excellent !!!
She is wearing factory original with under dress ( chemise ) and Jumeau red and pink flowers cotton dress , original socks and pink Jumeau shoes with red rosette and Bee mark at sole .
Special beautiful and rare Jumeau doll because of her eye mechanism and Presentation condition .... a treasure and hard to find !!
