Exceptionally rare luxury mechanical double goat cabriolet from France around Napoleon III era 1865 .... in superbly preserved original condition.
Wonderful and rare cabriolet with a pair of lambswool over paper mache goats are pulling a fancily woven wicker double seated cabriolet with drivers seat and foot rest.
Has original red metal spoked wheels and elaborately shaped carriage lower part.
The carriage has original upholstered in ecru silk with rich tufting and pleats with braid edging , foot steps and a pair of elegant carriage lamps.
The goats having lovely modeled face with leather ears and horns ( one horn are missing a. little hair losing ). Each has inset glass eyes and pink silk ribbon decoration . Having hinged legs attach to the undercarriage mechanical device which and when wound cause the right goat to briskly trot along pulling the carriage ... the left goat goes along with the other.
