Very rare found of stunning all original and well working automaton by Leopold Lambert .... France circa 1885/88 , was presented in the firm catalog as " Chinese Verseuse " . The very uniquely modeled head was special created by Emile Jumeau under special commission by Lombert and appears on no other model of automaton as an articulated doll .... so you can find never this wonderful head on another model of doll or automaton !!! Superb well working automaton with posed character faced Chinese lady upon original velvet covered base. The unique lady has rare character facial bisque head and arms with amber tinted complexion , pretty amber brown glass eyes with fine painting of long lashes and fine feathered brows , has pierced ears and original mohair wig . She has a stunning and very rare bisque head with highly characterized features included high cheekbones and slender facial modeling with aquiline nose. Her original slender carton torso is original costumed with her fantastic silk kimono with sash and dress , wears stocking and original silk shoes .Holding a beautiful miniature wooden tea tray and pot. Her original movements and music works well ...... the pretty lady sweeps her head from side to side and up and down ..... tentatively nods ..... lift the teapot and fill pour tea into the cup ..... then she offers the cup and repeats the action . All accompanied with fine music . The automaton included the original key and has paper tune card on underside of base .... Very rare to find all original automaton ... a must have for each good doll collection !!
