Superb original antique dark creamy and burgundy lady´s princess-style gown of finest soft wool and burgundy silk satin
from around 1868 / 70 , would fit well for a larger fashion doll ..... circa 22 " / 23 " ( 57 - 59 cm )
A rare to find antique fashion gown which has generally very good condition to age !
The gown features a tapered waist and flared sides with ruffled burgundy silk satin middle , has 3/4 long small inset sleeves and pretty modified bustle at the back of ruffled part with fine burgundy silk bow decoration .
Has two row of knife pleats all around hem and back along with eleven self covered button and hand made button holes.
The pretty dress has fine lace decoration around the round neckline and sleeves wrist.
It´s inside fine lined with striped cotton at upper dress and gauze ...... most hand sewn and all original antique from around 1868/70 ..
Has all complete generally good condition to age .... the burgundy silk has small faded places
but not disturbing from the high age of this outfit.
Total length from shoulder to hem ..... circa 19 " ( 49 cm )
Shoulder width ..... circa 6" ( 16 cm )
Waist around ......... 12,5 " ( 32 cm )
Arm length from shoulder ............ circa 6" ( 16 cm )
It´s not easy to find such a pretty gown for an larger fashion doll at this time !!!
