Rare to find first period Polichinelle Poupee in all original condition from France circa 1880 ..... one of the first Polichinelle doll´s was offered in France , with typical character face of an classic Polichinelle features with lovely painting and original silk sateen outfit . An Polichinelle was the most popularity character guy in France at the end of 19th. century and they was most often too find in France advertising Etrennes catalogs and publicity posters .... as typical symbols for the world of playing. They was offered in five different sizes special in the catalog of " Grands Magasins de Louvre " and in different materials ... but the lovely early ones was always from Paper-Mache like my very beautiful one in this offer !! This rare guy has beautiful character face expression of classic paper mache guy , has lovely painted facial features with attention to blushing and beaming smile . Fine horse hair as wig .... It has on block torso with characteristic torso and back humps and cotton filled body . Rare kid arms and hands with stitched fingers like on Fashion doll and wide painted wooden lower legs and feet with shoes. Her wears his fantastic original color full silk Polichinelle suit and matching gold paper jester cap , each trimmed with gold braid and silk bows . Special rare to find Polichinelle pattern in his silk suit of different pattern and color silk , has original lace jabot and cuffs , silk ribbons and brass bells . All complete in generally excellent condition to age .... a little dusty and has melting parts at his costume. Has small not disturbing repair at head side covered from the horse hair .
