~ Rare French Bisque Bebe Triste by Emile Jumeau in Superb Costume ~

This is one of the most beautiful Bebe´s from Emile Jumeau known as " Bebe Triste" or Long Face Jumeau ..... France circa 1885.

This rare model was designed and sculpted at this time by the great French artist " Carrier Belleuse " on commission from Maison Jumeau and is now known as " Bebe Triste " in reference to her sad expression !

This beautiful doll has best quality of pale bisque and painting , pressed bisque socket head with elongated and very full cheeks and chin.

She has dreamy blue glass paperweight inset eyes with dark eyeliner , fine painted lashes and mauve blushed eye shadow. Brushstroked brows and accented eye corners . She has an closed mouth with deep modeling and shaded and outlined lips.

Beautiful separately modeled pierced ears and pretty light brunette mohair wig over cork pate.

Head mark size 13 / 28" ( 71 cm )

Has original French composition and wooden fully jointed body with typical straight wrists.

Her complete condition is generally excellent but please note a very fine and very hard to see micro fine hairline from her head crown at front to the side over her temple .Please see my pictures !!! Tiny chip at head crown complete covered by her wig and her very fine hairline is hard to photograph and not to see with your eyes if you see the doll in person ! Otherwise her pressed bisque head is free of damage , repair or other problems.

She is wearing with superb French dark blue silk velvet and satin silk costume with turquoise silk decoration and bow. Has matching high brim velvet bonnet , set of under garment with French stocking and Shoes.

Most beautiful and rare 28" ( 71 cm ) Bebe with very fine quality of bisque and sad face expression , has original body and body finish and wonderful costume.

Because of her fine and hard to see bisque problem she has only a fraction of her normal price !!!
