Early French Paper Mache Polichinelle in all Original Condition / 1885

On Polichinelle was the most popularity character at the end of 19th. century. It was most often too find in France advertising Etrennes catalogs and publicity posters .... as typical symbols for the world of playing.

Special 1886 he was offered in five different sizes in the catalog of " Grands Magasins de Louvre " and was offered in different materials ... but the lovely early ones was always from Paper-Mache like my very beautiful one in this offer !!

This lovely Polichinelle is in all original condition from France circa 1885 ..... with typical character face of an classic Polichinelle features and finest painting and original silk sateen outfit .

Beautiful character face expression of classic paper mache guy , has beautiful painted facial features with attention to blushing and beaming smile . All perfect condition .... free of damage or repair. Has on block torso with characteristic torso and back humps and straw filled body . Wooden lower limps with hands and over-sized feet with modeled paper-mache shoes.

Her wears his fantastic original blue and yellow silk satin Polichinelle suit and matching jester cap , each trimmed with gold braid and frings. Special rare to find Polichinelle pattern in his satin suit , has original lace jabot and cuffs , red silk ribbons and brass bells .

All complete in generally excellent condition.... only a little dusty ......
