~~~ Pretty Antique Paper Mache French Eden Clown ~~~

Very nice and rare to find French paper mache Eden Clown attributed by Fleischmann & Bloedel from around 19th. Century, not often to find with this charming expression , special with this funny look of wonderful original condition and costume !! Very pretty and funny guy which was very popularity in France at 19th. century and offer in different exemples of Etrennes Catalog´s !!

Has lovely paper mache socket head with very nice original face decoration of butterflies and other tiny insects and typical clown painting at his eyes and mouth . He has blue glass inset eyes and fine painted lashes , brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows and on open mouth with tiny teeth and rare three color painted lips . He has his original blonde fur wig with tiny curls and original five piece paper mache body with original body finish in generally excellent condition. Note an tiny repair at on finger and a little lose of rubber..... otherwise has he all complete generally excellent condition !!!

He wears his beautiful two color flannel costume in light blue and yellow with large clown pom-pom buttons and fine glass buttons , cream muslin and lace collar , wide pump pants ..... original blue and cream stocking and shoes , finally cream flannel felt hat with silk pom-pom . He is with his hat 16" ( 40 cm ) and in generally excellent condition...... free of damage , repair , hairline or other big problem. His pretty costume was never removed from his body............ The little sheep belongs to him !!
