Very rare to find Bebe by " Charles Pannier " in wonderful presentation .....absolute rare French doll with typical childlike expression of on early French Bebe.
You will not often find this beautiful doll 16" ( 41 cm ) ..... made in France circa 1880 by Charles Pannier , with good quality of bisque and painting .
The " Pannier " has a pressed round bisque socket head with pale expression , wonderful large blue email paperweight inset eyes with lushly painted lashes and dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut. Brushstroked and multi-feathered brows . Closed mouth with strong modeled , shaded and accented lips . Has a hint of smile ...... Pierced ears and pretty blond mohair wig over cork pate . It is typical for this rare doll´s that they have a very difficult to see head mark .... this has only a 6 at back and more are not to identify !
She has a very hard to see fine hairline at head side ...please note it on my picture... , otherwise free of damage , repair or other big bisque problem. Note a tiny chip at her earring hole and a very tiny imperfection in her brows painting. Tiny bump at her nose but all not disturbing !!!!!
She has her original French composition and wooden fully jointed body with funny big paunch and straight wrists . Original body finish .......
Wearing very pretty with antique under garments , socks and shoes and nice red silk dress . Finally on cream silk bonnet ...
Marvelous and super rare to find French Bebe ..... please note a similar one in the fabulouse book by Samy Odin " Par Amour pour les poupees " on page 95
